Nürnberg, Blaue Nacht | Perpetuum
Preview PERPETUUM
mankind made a groundbreaking discovery: On a construction site, the complete plan of a perpetuum mobile got found in a sealed box. The inventor was Johann Bessler, Medicus, Mechanicus and alchemist of the early 18th century. Once pushed, his eternal wheel turned for several weeks.
Long since science has banned the perpetuum mobile to the realm of the impossible. And yet: don’t we live in an eternally spinning world that – once set in motion – can no longer be stopped and produces a “more” of everything?
The futurist Paul Scheerbart visualizes his idea of a Perpeh by means of a crazy projection apparatus. In an impressive experiment, visitors can admire the so-called butterfly effect: In front of a large cross, Frau Mehr reflects on a world that no longer needs a god. The profound and picture-rich circle shows six poetic views from the fields of religion, art, science, future vision and history.

PERPETUUM is also used in mild to moderate rain held (except storm warning, storm, etc.). We recommend sturdy footwear and rainwear. Please refrain from umbrellas. There are not always paved paths trodden. The staging is so unfortunately only conditionally accessible experience. If the event has to be canceled due to weather before reaching one hour of playing time, the ticket entitles entry to anotherday of PERPETUUM.
