Realisation
For five days we shut ourselves in the new Heidenheim Congress Centre with four dancers and two musicians and investigated the architecture. We showed the results at the opening ceremony and on the open days, where visitors were able to watch our ensemble for hours at a time, encountering our dancers and musicians. We had created figures, choreographies and scenes around the various spaces, their functionality and particularities – such as the very long staircase in the foyer. The dancers were present throughout the open days; we developed group dances and solo performances as well as an interactive sound installation. For the opening ceremony we staged a ‘blind date’: the stage in the new theatre was gradually illuminated, beginning with darkness; the new space was slowly faded in, accompanied by a dance between two light-beings, the contours of their body visible to the audience only via coloured points of light.
