How we work...
Developing a production on location and creating it specifically for a city or an event requires experienced and creative partners. Theater Anu has been working successfully in this field for years. The poetic signature of our company and our professional team have produced unique productions that many visitors will remember for a long time.
We offer you a closed concept development: Based on your idea or occasion, we develop a suitable story and spatial concept, and stage it in our poetic understanding of theatre. In doing so, we draw on a professional team of actors, dancers, set designers, technicians, draughtsmen, lyricists and musicians, depending on the requirements of the individual concept. The result is "tailor-made" theatre events that are experienced by a wide audience due to the poetic theatre approach.
Theater Anu realises commissioned productions on a wide variety of scales: from mobile one-person theatre to large-scale theatre installations or square productions. Whether a river of lights made of 40,000 candles or a flying angel in an overseas container; whether a theatrical city play or a dance exploration of architecture. In addition to the uniqueness of the individual theatrical experience that our Theatre of Encounter brings, the sustainability of cultural assets is a focus of interest for our company. Asking costs nothing and site-specific productions often cost less than you think.

Night Sea Voyage (2014) - A dream play for the anniversary of "100 years Edersee".
In the unique atmosphere below the dam wall, a walk-in poetic world has been created that deals with the history of the Eder valley on the level of the dream.
Expedition Thälmannpark: The Garden Analogia (2014) - A special project for theatre in public space by the Fonds Darstellender Künste. Together with residents of Thälmannpark, a residential area in Berlin's Prenzlauer Berg district, unusual solutions for the residential area were researched using the PAN process (Poetic Analogy Process), a special creativity technique.
Kesselbrink. In the maze of stories (2013) - Square production for the opening of the Kesselbrink. In a labyrinth of 800 canopies, the eventful history of the city square was retold. Commissioned by Bielefeld Marketing.
The Key Quest (2010) - a city production with 24 keys, 18 locked locks, 12 theatrical scenes, 4 thematic paths and a real crown insignia chest of the Prussian kings. A theatre PLAY for the whole family, street theatre in the best sense.
At the River of Lights (2010) - Theatre installation with 40,000 candles on the Bundesstraße 41. Commissioned by the city of Idar-Oberstein for the opening of the Kultursommer Rheinland-Pfalz.
The Legend of The Winged Boy (2010) - a commissioned production for the illumination of Hardrian's Wall in Newcastle/England for the anniversary "1600 years of the fall of Hadrian's Wall".
Opening of the Congress Centre Heidenheim (2009) - a poetic exploration of space for the city of Heidenheim. A rendezvous between body and architecture. A blind date with the black stage space.
