The reverie of shadows
as part of the Night of 1000 Lights, Siegen Castle Park
As night falls over the castle park and thousands of lights twinkle amongst the trees, a mysterious celebration begins. Shadows appear on the paths and meadows, and fleeting images emerge in the interplay of light and darkness. All across the park, small stages of poetic imagery come to life. Stroll through this nocturnal dreamscape, discover light art, shadow plays and poetic theatrical scenes – and become part of the action yourself. The Berlin-based Theater Anu collective has often turned the Night of 1,000 Lights into an unforgettable experience with productions such as ‘Die große Reise’ and ‘Perpetuum’, and this year continues this tradition with an interactive reverie of shadows. The Night of 1,000 Lights takes place in cooperation with VisitSiegen. From the banks of the Sieg via the market square to the castle park, the city is transformed into a sparkling sea of lights with a varied programme on both evenings.
