Theatre ANU creates an evening that celebrates the joy, the desire for adventure and the beauty of the childlike world...
Where is the child I was, does he live in me or is he gone? // Pablo Neruda: The Book of Questions
Night has fallen at Evenburg Castle and the dream begins. Trees are bathed in light, they show their faces. Dreamy figures awaken from their long sleep to new life: An elf magically sets a mobile of lights in motion. A woman meets her own shadow, it reaches out to her. A man catches images from the air in the darkness and tells the most amazing stories for adventurers big and small.
Three things have remained for us from paradise: the stars of the night, the flowers of the day and the eyes of children // Dante Alighieri
It has been decided. "Lücht un Spööl bi d` Evenbörg 2021 - In't Land van mien Kinnertied" will take place this year.
The new cultural event will be offered on four evenings in the Evenburg Castle Park in Leer-Loga. "Due to Corona, we have to change a few things, but we are pleased that four magical evenings can be made possible," say District Administrator Matthias Groote and Kurt Radtke, Managing Director of Touristik GmbH Südliches Ostfriesland, from the organising team.
In order for the event in the castle park to be corona-friendly, the event, which was originally planned for September 2020, will be spread over four instead of two evenings: In addition to the weekend of 10/11 September, the weekend of 3-4 September will also be offered to visitors.
Reorganisation of tickets: What needs to be done?
From 4 August 2021, the hall of the District Music School in the Evenburg Ensemble will be used for exchanging or returning tickets. All tickets from the previous year must be exchanged by 25 August 2021 - regardless of where they were purchased. The rule is that tickets for Saturday can only be exchanged for one of the two Saturdays and tickets for Friday can only be exchanged for one of the two Fridays. The tickets from 2020 thus lose their validity, they cannot be used as tickets this year.
Fixed admission times are noted on the cards. The visitors walk together in groups from play station to play station. While stocks last, the time can be chosen. The first admission time to the play area is at 20:15 and the last admission is at 22:30. Ticket inspection and registration will take place before admission. There are two waiting areas within the grounds: One for all arriving visitors and one for the next admission time. It is therefore advisable to be at the park entrance 15 to 30 minutes before the admission time. There will be plenty of seating at the eight play stations. Unfortunately, the planned hands-on programme has been cancelled this year.
What remains the same?
With light installations around the castle, the ANU theatre ensemble wants to amaze visitors between bridges and trees and transport them to poetic worlds - the motto of the 2021 performance is: "In't Land van mien Kinnertied". The Evenburg Park is particularly suitable for this, the actors say. "It's really romantic here." A small gastronomic offer is provided by the castle café until midnight.
And if you don't have time?
It is still possible to return tickets from 2020 until 30 August 2021. The money will be refunded by bank transfer. Additional tickets are not currently on sale. We will wait for the possible return of tickets. There is a waiting list for those interested.
The exchange office in the hall of the Kreismusikschule in the Evenburg Ensemble, Schlosspark 22 in Leer, is open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm. On 18 and 19 August, tickets can also be exchanged or returned between 6 and 7 pm. Telephone enquiries will be answered on 0491-99756000.
The district has been able to win a number of partners for the event. Support comes from the Sparkassen-Kulturstiftung LeerWittmund, the Ostfriesische Landschaftliche Brandkasse, Orgadata AG and Ostfriesische Industrieleistung GmbH.
